How can I report someone who is hacking my AOL email?

I know my sister is hacking my AOL email account and she sent an email to one of my friends which defamed me. I know it wasn't that big of a deal, but privacy is privacy and you don't go hacking accounts. She guessed the password right on the first try (yes I will change it) but I am annoyed. How can I report this, or get her back?

ah the joys of sister love, just report her to her isp and yours, and change you password so it ain't easy for her.
Reply:Report her to AOL and see if they can help you with your family dispute.............OK maybe not, how about you have a word with your sister and explain the error of her ways and go from there really.

You could also try telling your parents too, or even hell you could tell the police and i am sure when they finished laughing they would hang up.

Change password, send email to the recipient to explain the situation and then speak to parents and sister and talk of privacy issues you have.

Anything else would be a little bit over the top for a simple email 'hack'.......
Reply:You have no legal case.

First of all you would need to be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that your sister was the one who sent out the email.

Second you would have to prove that you did not give her the password and permission to use the account.

You could certainly attempt to sue her in a civil court but again.. you would need to be able to prove the above at least by a preponderance of evidence.

I would suggest you learn and practice some basic security awareness such as windows login, bios password, screensaver password, password security and general email security, etc... and perhaps learning the art of communication.

Good Luck
